Big Data

What Is Big Data?

Big data refers to the large, diverse sets of information that grow at ever-increasing rates. It encompasses the volume of information, the velocity or speed at which it is created and collected, and the variety or scope of the data points being covered.

How Big Data Works?

Big data can be categorized as unstructured or structured. Structured data consists of information already managed by the organization in databases and spreadsheets; it is frequently numeric in nature. Unstructured data is information that is unorganized and does not fall into a pre-determined model or format. It includes data gathered from various social media sites, which help institutions gather information on customer needs.

DARQ

DNA of DARQ

D = Distributed ledgers (a category of technologies that includes blockchain) will expand networks by eliminating the need for trusted third parties.

A = Artificial intelligence (AI) already plays a critical role in optimizing processes and influencing strategic decision-making with much more to come as companies actively apply AI across the business.

R = Extended Reality, an immersive technology that includes augmented reality and virtual reality, creates entirely new ways for people to experience and engage with the world around them.

Q = Quantum computing represents a new processing paradigm with novel ways to approach and solve the hardest computational problems.

Leading companies are already gaining expertise with early-stage tests and pilots, forming key partnerships and building up DARQ capabilities.

Robotic Process Automation

What is RPA?

RPA is an application of technology, governed by business logic and structured inputs, aimed at automating business processes.

How Does RPA Help?

Using RPA tools, a company can configure software, or a “robot,” to capture and interpret applications for processing a transaction, triggering responses and communicating with other digital systems. RPA scenarios range from something as simple as generating an automatic response to an email to deploying thousands of bots, each programmed to automate jobs in an ERP system.

Edge Computing

What Is Edge Computing?

Edge computing is a distributed, open IT architecture that features decentralised processing power, enabling mobile computing and IOT technologies. In edge computing, data is processed by the device itself or by a local computer or server, rather than being transmitted to a data centre.

How Does It Help?

Edge computing enables data stream acceleration, including real-time data processing without latency. It allows smart applications and devices to respond to data almost instantaneously as it’s being created, eliminating lag time. This is critical for technologies such as self-driving cars and has equally important benefits for business.

Edge computing allows for efficient data processing in that large amounts of data can be processed near the source, reducing Internet bandwidth usage. This both eliminates costs and ensures that applications can be used effectively in remote locations. In addition, the ability to process data without ever putting it into a public cloud adds a useful layer of security for sensitive data.

Li-Fi

What is Li- Fi ?

LiFi is a wireless optical networking technology that uses LEDs for data transmission. In simpler terms, LiFi is considered to be as a light-based WiFi which uses light instead of radio waves to transmit information. Using light to transmit data allows LiFi to deliver a couple of advantages such as working in areas susceptible to electromagnetic interference like hospitals and aircraft cabins and working across higher bandwidth while offering higher transmission speeds.

Data is captured in modulated light frequencies of a solid-sate LED light source and is then transmitted and received by LiFi-enabled devices. A photosensitive detector demodulates the light frequency signal and converts it back into an electronic data stream and – in so doing – allows for faster-than-ever, more secure, bi-directional wireless communication.

Artificial Intelligence

AI refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.

The ideal characteristic of artificial intelligence is its ability to rationalize and take actions that have the best chance of achieving a specific goal.

Understanding Artificial Intelligence

When most people hear the term artificial intelligence, the first thing they usually think of is robots. That’s because big-budget films and novels weave stories about human-like machines that wreak havoc on Earth. But nothing could be further from the truth.

Artificial intelligence is based on the principle that human intelligence can be defined in a way that a machine can easily mimic it and execute tasks, from the most simple to those that are even more complex. The goals of artificial intelligence include learning, reasoning, and perception.

As technology advances, previous benchmarks that defined artificial intelligence become outdated. For example, machines that calculate basic functions or recognize text through optimal character recognition are no longer considered to embody artificial intelligence, since this function is now taken for granted as an inherent computer function.

AI is continuously evolving to benefit many different industries. Machines are wired using a cross-disciplinary approach based in mathematics, computer science, linguistics, psychology, and more.

Applications of Artificial Intelligence

The applications for artificial intelligence are endless. The technology can be applied to many different sectors and industries. AI is being used in the healthcare industry for dosing drugs and different treatment in patients, and for surgical procedures in the operating room.

Artificial intelligence also has applications in the financial industry, where it is used to detect and flag activity in banking and finance such as unusual debit card usage and large account deposits—all of which help a bank’s fraud department. Applications for AI are also being used to help streamline and make trading easier. This is done by making supply, demand, and pricing of securities easier to estimate.

MI

When a machine is programmed to learn, it looks for patterns and trends within the data it’s given. It uses those findings to draw conclusions. It then develops new programs that take those conclusions into account, allowing the technology to become more efficient and more accurate in tackling one problem at a time.
